The Background Astrology on the 2024 US Presidential Elections
The Age of Aquarius does not have a specific perspective on the 2024 US presidential elections, but the sub-periods do! July 2024 commenced a potent 5-month period within the Age of Aquarius and already its effects are very noticeable. Within the Age of Aquarius, the world finds itself in the Libra sub-age (1970 – 2149), and within this sub-age, we are in the Gemini micro-age (2014 – 2029). All ages and their twelve-fold subdivisions have their respective decans. Sitting inside the Gemini micro-age is the Aquarius micro-age decan (Dec 2014 – Dec 2019). This small Aquarius micro-age decan then combines with its more powerful overflow to create the Aquarius micro-age decan and overflow (Dec 2014 – Dec 2019 – Nov 2024). Believe it or not, this Aquarius period is the first and only Aquarius period of such strength that all Baby Boomers and later generations have experienced. If you want to understand Aquarius on a mundane level, this 10-year Aquarius period is the period you must examine.
For example, this is the Aquarius micro-age decan and overflow that brought us Brexit for (Leo) UK, Donald Trump as president of the USA along with the rise of several other populace leaders around the world, and at its very peak Covid-19. Aquarius is associated with interruption and Covid-19 reintroduced the world to more interruption than had been experienced since the Second World War.
However, the day-to-day ‘action’ is defined by even smaller periods – specifically the 15-month nano-ages and 5-month nano-age decans (see table below). The Aquarius nano-age (Jan 2024 – June 2024) achieved full strength in June 2024, and then behaved like a tsunami which will define much of what occurs until November 2024. We have all witnessed this explosion already
Firstly, there was the unexpected assassination attempt against Donald Trump on July 13 2024 (that also occurred in the Scorpio nano-age overflow Aug 2023 – Nov 2024 increasing the risk of assassination attempts). Then there was the unprecedented IT outage on July 19 2024 with IT and the Internet firmly in the Aquarius field of action. On the mundane level, Aquarius brings interruption, as well as radicals, extremists and anti-mainstream sentiment such as expressed by Donald Trump. These two events were quickly followed by President Biden dropping out of the 2024 US presidential elections. Again, a (Leo) mainstream figure being undermined by Aquarius. But another archetype associated with Aquarius is excitement. The US presidential race now appears exciting, or at least more exciting than it was previously.
The period June to November 2024 means that the rest of the US presidential election cycle is overshadowed by Aquarius. This will promote possibly more unexpected and/or extreme elements. This is about the highest level of predictability that can be extracted from the astrological ages and their sub-periods. These provide the context and environment for any period, but never the specifics. For example, the July 4, 2024, general elections in the UK threw out the conservative stranglehold on power over the last 14 years. The 2024 French elections in June and July 2024 initially produced the best results for the ‘radical’ right-wing parties, when the purpose of the election was to shore up the existing (mainstream) left-wing government. Even the release of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has Aquarius stamped all over it as the fugitive ‘radical’ freedom-fighter gets his freedom.
However, there is a twist to this story. The rest of the presidential campaign may be radical, strange and unpredictable, plus exciting, but in the very month of the election, Aquarius comes to a screeching halt, and Libra takes over. The Aquarius nano-age decan overflow exists within a Libra nano-age (Aug 2023 – Nov 2024) but in November 2024, both the Libra nano-age and Libra nano-age decan morph into their respective overflow periods. Furthermore, these two Libra sub-periods will resonate with the Libra micro-age decan overflow (Nov 2024 – Nov 2029). November is the critical month that Aquarius gets replaced by Libra, and Libra is also extremely strong as not only will the Libra nano-age decan and Libra nano-age be peaking, but so will the Libra micro-age decan overflow sitting within the Libra sub-age (1970 – 2149) which itself is situated in the massive Libra age-decan (1433 – 2149) – the first of three age-decans in the Age of Aquarius. What will Libra bring to the table? Firstly, it will continue to promote the role and influence of females in the world, and while this does not guarantee that automatically any woman running for the US presidency will get elected, it is certainly a good sign for any female candidate to have on their side.
The second element that Libra will promote is the role of the judiciary. It suggests that regardless of who wins the US presidential election, there will be an extraordinary focus on the law courts, including the Supreme Court in the USA. We should expect more focus and a greater role on many judiciaries around the world except obviously in any authoritarian country including frail democracies. The judiciary provides some bulwark against authoritarianism and fascism in the democratic context. There could be greater demands placed upon the judiciary, and the ethics of the judiciary may be questioned.
The third major element Libra will bring is conflict. For nearly everyone alive, the 5 years commencing November 2024 should witness the greatest conflict in their lives in the same way that Covid-19 brought the greatest interruption to our personal lives and societies around the world. It seems that Libra is worse than Aries when it comes to conflict. This subtly suggests that Trump may lose the 2024 presidential elections, as if he loses, this will probably bring the greatest political conflict to the USA for some time. On a previous Libra micro-age decan overflow (1860 – 1865) the USA had its Civil War. The only other Libra period of the same strength since the American Civil War was the Libra micro-age decan overflow (1915 – 1920) coinciding with the First World War. It’s not all conflict and battles when it comes to Libra – we can expect some spectacular artists and art over the next five years – but sport and athletics may suffer and major construction projects falter.
The big question is how much Aquarius will affect November 2024 compared to Libra? I have never been able to rectify the astrological ages to a period of less than about one month. The proportional interplay between Aquarius and Libra in this election is not known, but most likely, both will be factors. At a minimum, we should expect both to operate but with Libra relatively quickly taking the reigns of power and Aquarius slinking from the field.
Mundane astrology can rarely predict the future except in general terms or trends. This is why most astrologers focus their energies on what has just happened – forensic astrology is far more popular than predictions. Furthermore, what is the point in predicting who will win the 2024 presidential election – will a correct prediction make any difference? After all, I remember from my student days in the late 1960’s the following tongue-in-cheek slogan:
“No matter who you vote for, a politician always gets in!”
The current Aquarius period does favor the radical anti-mainstream revolutionary, and there is no doubt that Trump fulfills this archetypal demand. It worked for him in 2016, but not in 2000. The rising strength of Libra does favor Kamala Harris as this is the strongest presence of Libra in the world that has existed since females were allowed to vote in the USA. Interestingly, the US Congress granted women the right to vote in June 1919, at the end of the last Libra period of the same strength as the current one – the Libra micro-age decan and overflow (1910 – 1915 – 1920). It seems only appropriate that in the next step for Libra, the USA should get a female president – but astrology cannot provide a guarantee.
