Full Moon Aquarius: Be A Star

Full Moon [17 Aquarius 00]
August 9, 2025 (08:55 GMT+1)
Full Moon – Shine Bright
This month’s Full Moon falls at the weekend and Full Moons have always been a time of celebration. Emotions are heightened, life becomes more dramatic and Full Moon energy kicks in.
It’s an ideal time to channel your inner werewolf and be your true unique self. Find your tribe during the Full Moon and let it all go. This is the peak of the Moon cycle preparing for the waning phase when you can release emotions that no longer serve you. Let it all hang out.
Plus, this Full Moon cuts across attention-seeking Leo and social warrior Aquarius. Therefore, it’s an ideal Full Moon for a party or a protest march. You’ll feel this Full Moon most strongly on Friday night but it’s active all weekend.
Full Moon Tip: Avoid arguments or family dramas and be around people who get who you are.
Leo/Aquarius Axis
When you’re considering a Full Moon, it’s important to note the signs involved. This month, the Sun will be in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius, star signs which oppose one another across the zodiac.
The Sun shines bright in Leo and the essence of Leo is to be at the heart of proceedings, the centre of attention. The big cat of the zodiac thrives when it receives plenty of stroking, accolade and admiration.
Leo is a creative star sign, so this is about your identity, your unique skills and talents, what makes you ‘you’. It’s an ideal Full Moon weekend to be a star!
The opposite side of the zodiac Aquarius represents the collective rather than the individual. The Sun finds it harder to shine brightly in Aquarius because it has to share the limelight. This isn’t about self-interest. Aquarius represents what’s best for everyone, common goals, a shared mission or purpose.
You may experience issues around fitting in or being an outsider during this Full Moon. Where do you belong, who can you team up with to achieve mutual goals?
Do you find your light is dimmed if you compare yourself unfavourably to others, if other people don’t get who you are, if your contribution goes unwanted? Are you on the outside looking in?
Alternatively, are you ready to shine bright, share your natural talents with the world and make a difference? You may decide to leave or move on from one set and find a new group or alliance.
As with all planetary oppositions, you can either focus on what divides you or work alongside other people to create unity out of polarity. These themes are already resonant within our society but there may be significant ways how they’re playing out for you personally.
It’s an ideal Full Moon weekend to ask those all-important questions, ‘Who am I, where do I belong and how can I be a star?’
The Big Pattern
This Full Moon is extra powerful because of a Kite pattern that’s forming in the heavens which involves both Aquarius’ ruling planets, Saturn and Uranus. A Kite pattern adds power and potential and can help you ‘fly high’.
This Kite pattern involves Mars in Libra, the peace warrior, in a Grand Air Trine aspect with innovative Uranus in Gemini and transformative Pluto in Aquarius. At the same time, Mars makes an opposition with ‘get real’ Saturn and inspirational Neptune. These five planets make up the Kite pattern.
If you have planets/angles at 1-2° of the air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) or the fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), you’re in the hot zone. Use this combination to good effect to push things through and create change.
At the same time, consider where you might be trapped in your life, as this can be the flip side of the Kite pattern.
Air signs link into the collective, a reminder of people power when we come together within society. This is relevant because it’s a similar theme to this week’s Full Moon. The Sun in Leo is the King or Ruler while the Moon in Aquarius represents the people.
Therefore, you would expect there to be significant protests playing out around the world, as the people stand up against their leaders.
In your own life, consider where to look for support or backing (air signs) to push through your individual desires or urge for action (Mars/Aries).
